HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 36-year-old man accused in a drug distribution case was scheduled for court Monday morning for a plea hearing.

Instead, Julian Price will now face a preliminary hearing for possession of marijuana with intent to sell, interference with law enforcement, flee and elude and driving an unregistered vehicle.

The state alleges that, on June 29, Julian Price led Reno County Sheriff’s Deputies on a high-speed chase. Once stopped and arrested, deputies discovered he was in possession of 450 grams, but less than 30 kilograms, of marijuana.

The preliminary hearing in the case is now set for Dec. 7 in front of Judge Joe McCarville.

Price served time for convictions for two counts of aggravated battery and drug-related charges in both Saline and Reno Counties.
