Kan. woman hospitalized after car hits dead deer, another car

PRATT COUNTY — A Kansas woman was injured in an accident just after 6p.m. Thursday in Pratt County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Toyota Avalon driven by Mary Curtis, 75, St. John, was southbound on U.S. 281 fourteen miles north of Pratt.

The driver lost control of the vehicle after it hit a dead deer in the roadway. The vehicle then hit a 2008 Lincoln Mark LT that was legally parked after striking the deer.

The Toyota continued south, spun and entered the west ditch.

Curtis was transported to the hospital in Pratt. She was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
