RENO COUNTY, Kan. — A 38-year-old Nebraska man was arrested early Sunday when he reportedly entered a home in the county while the resident was inside.
The resident, whose home is located in the 4400 block of Victory Road, says he woke up and heard a noise. He found the intruder in his living room, grabbed his shotgun and ordered him off the property at gunpoint. The Reno County Sheriff’s Office set up a perimeter and located Nicholas Holder apparently walking near his pickup.
Holder was taken into custody and faces potential charges of aggravated burglary, criminal possession of a weapon, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bond in the case was set at $12,500. He was denied a bond reduction when he appeared in court Monday. Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen noted that he was lucky to be in jail as he could have been shot by the homeowner.
