BCBS of Kansas employees, foundation pledge to United Way

TOPEKA, Kan. — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas employees, retirees and the Blue Cross and the Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation donated a total of $300,614.96 to United Ways in Salina, Topeka, Wichita, and Hutchinson.

In Hutchinson, seven employees of the foundation raised $7,732.32 for the United Way of Reno County.

The gift included individual employee contributions as well as a $5,000 donation from the foundation.

Andrew C. Corbin, president/CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation, stated in a release that the campaign resulted in not only a generous monetary donation to United Way organizations across the state, but also provided meals to 4,392 individuals. Employees assembled sack lunches during their United Way meetings.
