Kansas Department of Labor releases the latest unemployment numbers

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The Kansas Department of Labor released the latest unemployment numbers Friday morning including the numbers for major cities and counties in Kansas.

The unemployment rate for Hutchinson in November was 3.9 percent up from 3.3 percent in October, but much lower than where we were in November of last year when the rate was 4.7 percent.

The number for Reno County was also slightly higher last month with a rate of 3.6 percent, up from 3.2 percent in October, but again lower than November of last year when the rate was 4.3 percent.

There were 1,091 residents of the county looking for work last month according to the KDOL numbers.

Surrounding counties also saw slight increases over October.

Preliminary estimates for the state show a seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 3.5 percent in November. This was down from 3.6 percent in October and down from 4.3 percent in November 2016.
