HUTCHINSON, Kan. — As part of its agenda session, the Reno County Commission approved a number of items including the purchase of an upgrade for the Computer Aided Dispatch, or CAD for short, for 911 Emergency Services at a cost just over $142,000.

This cost will be split three ways with 911 Emergency Services paying for 40 percent, and the Hutchinson Police Department and Reno County Sheriff’s Office each paying 30 percent.

However, the Sheriff’s Department won’t pay its share through budget until 2019.

Commissioners also approved the request from the Sheriff’s Office to purchase four new patrol vehicles from Midway Motors at a cost of $99,288.

The commission also approved the amended policy and procedure for Solid Waste assessment protest and a new 2018 IRS Standard Mileage rate of 54.5 cents per mile for eligible Reno County mileage reimbursements. This is a one-cent increase over last year.
