HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A Hutchinson woman arrested after an apparent stabbing has her case now pending as part of a waiver-status docket.

Kristin Ardolino is accused of one count of aggravated battery after she apparently attacked Jerry Wells with a knife back on Dec. 26. She was scheduled to be in court for the reading of the charge on Wednesday, but was apparently read the charge last week, according to District Court officials.

According to earlier statements made in court, the two got into a physical altercation when Wells followed her out the door of a residence. She then allegedly stabbed him twice, once in the left arm, and also slashed him across the neck.

Ardolino claims self-defense in the case and says she didn’t even realize what harm she had done to Wells.

She remains jailed on a $20,000 bond. The case is scheduled as part of a waiver-status docket later this month in front of Judge Joe McCarville.

She’s been on community corrections for aggravated assault for criminal possession of a firearm for a case from 2015. She also has prior convictions for various drug charges from 2014.
