
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Communities that Care Youth Leadership Group is inviting all fifth through eighth graders in the county to the annual Youth Empowerment Summit from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 15 at Hutchinson High School. The day is also Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a national day of service.
The featured speaker will be Adrienne Bulinski. The speaker is an award-winning youth speaker on a mission to empower teens to believe in themselves and their self-worth, believe in their passions and their goals and believe in their capabilities of reaching many great achievements in their lifetime.
During the day, the students will hone leadership skills, find ways to be involved in their community, learn about avoiding alcohol, illegal drugs, and other poor choices and grow to recognize good choices.
The day includes a free lunch.
Students are asked to pre-register for the event by calling (620) 615-4018. Registrations will also be taken at the event on Monday beginning at 7:30 a.m.
