HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Two men arrested on drug-related charges back on Jan. 5 were back before a judge Friday for the formal reading of charges.

Twenty-five-year-old Sheridan M. Kiraly and 47-year-old Bruce Dutton are both charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute and personal use drug paraphernalia. Kiraly is also charged with possession of marijuana and interference with law enforcement.

The case against the two started when officers were called to the 3100 block of Sierra Parkway on the report of possible gunshots. They located a green GMC truck with two men inside. As they approached the vehicle and made contact, they could smell marijuana. They pulled Kiraly from the vehicle. He gave a fake name of Bradley Kiraly from Newton. Officials later learned his real name was Sheridan and that he had a Sheriff’s Department warrant. That led to the search of the vehicle where they found the drugs and paraphernalia.

The cases against the two men will now move to a waiver-status docket.
