HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 40-year-old man convicted of a number of charges, including possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, was sentenced to just over four years in prison.

Gregory Collins was charged in the case after striking a parked car in the unit block of Rambler and then driving through fences on the Kansas State Fairgrounds.

This case reportedly occurred on Feb. 17, 2017.

Other charges include possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with law enforcement, leaving the scene of an accident, illegal transportation of liquor and two counts of DUI.

Collins has prior felonies out of Sedgwick County from 1999. That includes aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery. Judge Tim Chambers was not receptive to any relief from the sentence in light of those convictions.

Collins told the judge that he has a drug and alcohol problem and apologized for his stupidity for the crimes he committed.
