HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Winter Homecoming at Hutchinson High School will get a different kind of kickoff in 2018. The theme for the winter is the “Wizard of Oz – There’s No Place Like Homecoming.”

HHS is holding Crazy Olympics 2018 from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday in the JV Gym. Fun class competitions in relays, trivia and other games will be held. Classes are asked to dress in color – the freshmen in red, sophomores in blue, juniors in green, seniors in purple and staff in black.
Homecoming hits a high note on Friday, Feb. 16, with the basketball games against Goddard Eisenhower with the dance to follow in the cafeteria from about 9 to 11 p.m.
Candidates for king are: Carson Biehler, Austin Childs, Brynden Grow, Isaiah Holmes, Dylan Jensen and Rhys Tash. Candidates for queen are: Chandler Ashcraft, Arika Garcia, Alexis Glaspie, Emily Hendricks, Jules Martinez and Sage Williams.
The king will be crowned between varsity games, around 7:15 p.m., Friday while the queen will be crowned at halftime of the boys game.
HHS students will have assemblies Friday to meet the finalists before voting on homecoming royalty.
