HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Still in the first year of its merger, Siemens Gamesa will hold a Capital Markets Day overnight in the U.S.

The company will take time to provide insight and its plans for the company for the next three years. The meeting will be watched closely here in the U.S. as the company has cut a number of jobs, including close to 150 in Hutchinson and another 200 in Fort Madison, Iowa. The company also closed a plant in Canada, eliminating 450 jobs. It’s part of a worldwide reduction in workforce totaling more than 6,000.

The company has excelled in the offshore wind business, leading the way by far in orders and sales, but continues to lack behind Vesta in the onshore market.

A slump in sales ate into the bottom line for the company in the last quarter, but leaders feel the tide may be turning with strong order numbers on the books.
