If you look closely, you can see the crack in the pole.
A 42-year-old Hutchinson man was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center after he crashed his Ford pickup into a Westar Energy pole in east Hutchinson Wednesday afternoon.
Robert Raigoza tells emergency personnel that he doesn’t remember the crash at all, and that he may have blacked out while traveling south on Carey St. He jumped the curb and struck the pole cracking it in half.
There were virtually no brake marks meaning he made no attempt to stop prior the crash.
Authorities saying they transported him to the hospital with an unknown medical condition.
Westar officials were called to the scene and will have to replace the poll.
The accident occurring just after 2 p-m Wednesday.
