
RENO COUNTY – An accident in the county resulted in three people going to the hospital in Hutchinson.
A pickup driven by 55-year-old Cindy Clayton of Burrton had been struck from behind after she slowed down to turn east onto Trail West Road from Haven Road. Her vehicle was struck by another pickup driven by 54-year-old Bradley Voth of Buhler.
After Clayton’s vehicle was struck, it continued south and struck a mailbox. During the accident, Clayton was partially ejected out the back window of her pickup. A passenger in her vehicle, 51-year-old Velda Howell of Burrton, was unresponsive at the scene.
Both were transported by EMS to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for their injuries.
Voth complained of chest pain and was seen by EMS at the scene, but refused transport. He was later taken to the hospital by a family member.
Howell was issued citations for following too close and an expired driver’s license.
The accident occurred just before 4 p.m. Wednesday.
