McPherson County Sheriff reports another phone scam

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson County Sheriff’s Department is reporting a phone scam in which the caller claims to be a captain, deputy or employee with the sheriff’s office.

The caller claims to have a federal arrest warrant for missed jury, or grand jury, duty and requests payment to resolve the warrant. The phone number being used is 620-257-6008 ext 4.

Officials in McPherson say this is a scam. Authorities will never solicit you to resolve a warrant via payment. Do not send any money and do not give out personal information. Call police with any questions.
