HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 30-year-old man wanted on a warrant is back in jail after he ran from law enforcement around 2 p.m. Sunday. 

Fransisco Castanada faces potential charges for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, felony interference, criminal possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, possession of a stolen firearm and stolen property.

The arrest occurred in the 100 block of East 8th. Officers went to the home to serve the warrant. Castanada then ran from the area, but was quickly captured.

Officers discovered Castanada had a holstered weapon — a 9 mm handgun — which was reported stolen. They also found a seller’s quantity of methamphetamine as well as some marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a stolen wallet.

His bond remains at $41,500. He’ll be back in court on April 2.
