ST. JOHN, Kan. — Around 3 a.m. Saturday, the St. John Police Department received a report of suspicious activity in the 100 block of South Prairie. The officer on duty conducted a traffic stop with the suspected vehicle. The officer recovered items taken from a residence. The driver was arrested and criminal charges were filed against the passenger.

Further investigation revealed the stolen items had previously been taken from a residence in the 900 block of North West.

On Tuesday, officers with the St. John Police Department, Stafford Police Department, Macksville Police Department, Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, Kansas Highway Patrol, and the Barton County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit executed a search warrant in the 100 block of South Prairie in St. John. The purpose of the search warrant was to recover narcotics and stolen property.

Drug paraphernalia and narcotics were seized from the residence, including suspected methamphetamine and marijuana.

The names of those arrested were not released.
