HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A status hearing Friday for Jerry Anderson Jr. revealed he is in federal custody.

Jerry Anderson Jr. was charged with aggravated robbery after he allegedly walked into LoanMax Title Loans and demanded money at gunpoint. He got away with about $1,400 in the 2015 robbery and left in a black four-door automobile, which police found at a residence he shares with Adina Smith.

A federal indictment handed down in March alleges Anderson entered the Meritrust Credit Union at 2900 S. Oliver in Wichita and passed a note to one of the tellers stating, “This is a robbery, nothing funny, give me the money.”

He left the credit union with approximately $3,100.

Because he’s in federal custody, the Reno County District Court case is on hold. To ensure he comes back to Reno County after the federal case is complete, Judge Trish Rose issued a bench warrant with a $25,000 bond.
