HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Around 2:14 a.m. Monday, Hutchinson Fire units were dispatched to the 200 block of East Campbell for smoke in a structure.

First-arriving units found very light smoke inside a single-family residential home. As crews searched for the source, a thermal imaging camera showed some hot spots in the attic. Crews entered the attic and found a smoldering fire along some electrical lines. Utilities were shut off and crews extinguished the fire.

It has been ruled an electrical fire, caused by improper wiring. The interior suffered very minor damage. Two occupants were home at the time of the call. No injuries were reported.
