County sales tax numbers for March take a dip

While Reno County sales numbers have been showing increases in past months over previous years, that wasn’t the case with the latest numbers released by County Treasure Clark Miller.

The numbers released Friday show the county brought in 316-thousand in March, down from February numbers when the county brought in over 397-thousand, and also less then March of last year when they collected 331-thousand dollars.

Now, its not that unusual that the numbers would drop some considering that it reflects sales right after the busy Christmas shopping season, and most people have spent all their money on Christmas presents.

Despite the decrease with the March numbers, the county is only slightly below where they were with last years numbers. So far, the county has collected 1-million, 59-thousand, 385 dollars for the year, compared with around 1-million 60-thousand last year, a difference of nearly 906-dollars.
