HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 23-year-old Hutchinson woman was injured Wednesday afternoon after she lost control of her vehicle on 43rd at Monroe. 

Olivia Smith told officers she was westbound on 43rd and looked down at her radio. When she looked up, she was going into the ditch. Smith then overcorrected and struck a fire hydrant, which caused her vehicle to overturn. The crash also jammed her doors. She was extricated by Hutchinson firefighters, according to Police Lt. Josh Radloff. She was then taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.

The accident occurred around 3:20 p.m.
