TOPEKA, Kan. — The latest numbers released Friday from the Kansas Department of Labor show an unemployment rate for Hutchinson at 3.8 percent for the month of April, down slightly from March when the rate was at 3.9 percent.

The rate for Reno County is at 3.6 percent, down from 3.8 percent in March, but matches the rate in April of last year.

There were 1,081 residents looking for work last month. Most of those people reside in Hutchinson.

Other counties in the area also saw slight drops.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the state as a whole was 3.4 percent in April. This was unchanged from March and down from 3.6 percent in April 2017.
