After falling to more than five feet below normal levels, Cheney Lake is beginning to see some recovery from the drought conditions that left the lake so low that the marina and other boating facilities were left high and dry.
As of Tuesday morning the level at Cheney was at 1419.5 feet. Normal pool is 1421.6. That’s still two feet below normal but up three feet in the past three months.
Park officials say the two main boat docks are open again but some of the smaller ones are still closed due to shallow water in those areas.
