PRATT, Kan. — A chip seal project is scheduled to begin Thursday on U.S. 54 from the K-61 junction in Pratt to about five miles east where the highway becomes four lanes.

Heft & Sons, LLC of Greensburg is the primary contractor for the $205,803 project and will have 10 working days to complete the job.

Traffic will be controlled with flaggers and a pilot car operation.
