HUTCHINSON, Kan. — While Gov. Jeff Colyer was in Hutchinson Wednesday for the state fair ceremonial bill signing, he took some time to talk politics.

He commented on statements made by one his opponents, Secretary of State Kris Kobach. Kobach said Colyer and former Gov. Sam Brownback cut taxes, but increased spending. Colyer fired back, saying he saved the state a whole lot of money:

 

As for education funding, he says it’s a wait-and-see with the Supreme Court still deciding if the state is providing enough money. Gov. Colyer seems to believe they are spending enough, but admits it’s not known what the high court will decide.

 

The Kansas Supreme Court could make its decision on school funding at any time.
