Strong storms rock parts of Kansas Thursday evening

Severe storms again brought large hail and strong winds to neighboring counties east of Hutchinson Thursday evening. The storms actually started to form over the city, but by the time they began to produce severe weather they were in Harvey and McPherson counties, then Marion, and eventually Sedgwick County.

Large hail as you can see from the picture sent to us by a one of our hour listeners who was traveling K-96 in Sedgwick County near Colwich. He says he had to pull over because of the hail was so bad, he couldn’t see.

No word on any wind damage as of Thursday evening, but certainly the body shops in the area may be busy with hail damage to vehicles in the counties to our east.
