TOPEKA (AP) – Authorities say one person has died in a house fire in southeast Topeka.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that the victim’s name is being withheld pending positive identification. The first crews to arrive at the home Sunday morning reported that no smoke or flames were visible. But Topeka fire investigator James Vollintine said an investigation showed that fire happened inside the home and put itself out before the firefighters arrived.

Vollintine says the cause of the fire is being classified as undetermined. The fire started in the living room, and Vollintine said more likely than not it was accidental.
