HUTCHINSON, Kan. — As online enrollment begins in the area, parents are reminded that Kansas law requires students to be vaccinated for a variety of childhood diseases before attending school each year. Many of these are timed before preschool and kindergarten, while another group of vaccinations have to be taken before seventh grade.

Enrollment is not complete in USD 308 until proof of vaccinations is provided. Students will not be able to attend classes without vaccination proof. Families may provide proof of a medical or religious exemption in lieu of the vaccinations, but state regulation requires the exemptions to be filed annually.

Vaccinations are available from a family physician, Prairie Star Health Center, the Reno County Health Department or local pharmacies.

The immunization record can be taken to the Curriculum Office at 1520 N. Plum.
