NICKERSON, Kan. — The Nickerson summer lunch program served more than 5,600 meals.
Once all the numbers were put together, the district announced that it served 2,069 lunches at South Hutchinson Elementary School, along with 1,761 breakfasts and 1,864 lunches at Nickerson High School. Meals were served at both locations Monday through Thursday during the summer.
The district also provided bus service for children who needed transportation to and from the meals.
The district hopes to increase the number of children served in the future.
