SOUTH HUTCHINSON, Kan. — There were four National Night Out events in the Hutchinson area Tuesday evening, including one in South Hutchinson.

South Hutchinson Police Officer Keith Zerger organized the event and talked about why it’s so important:

There was also an event at the SW Bricktown Park just to the southwest of the law enforcement center. That event also had a bouncy inflatable for the kids. A newly-installed zipline is proving to be very popular.

Sheriff Randy Henderson also brought the Lenco BearCat Armored Vehicle so residents could see it. Hutchinson Firefighters and EMS were also present for the event.

Two other events were also held in Hutchinson. One was in Farmington Park at Elm and Curtis. The other was the College Grove event on the Hutchinson Community College campus.

All of the neighborhood parties had food and drink.
