NICKERSON, Kan. — The Nickerson Panthers lost Friday night’s opening game to the Halstead Dragons 22-7.

Nickerson started strong, scoring its first touchdown in the second quarter. From there, the Panthers just couldn’t seem to finalize their plays.

In the third quarter, Halstead’s offense came on strong to take the lead over Nickerson and it quickly ended from there. Halstead scored 16 points in the final quarter.

Nickerson will play its first away game at Hoisington next Friday.
