Two Hutchinson residents face 34-counts in drug case from last November

Two people were arrested on charges associated with numerous counts, 34 to be exact for having been in possession of synthetic marijuana, bath salts, and potpourri.

The crimes are alleged to have occurred back in November of 2011 and 71-year-old Donald Gregg and 61-year-old Karen Gregg both made appearances on the charges Thursday morning where there 20-thousand dollar bonds were kept the same.

The case has to do with the raid back on November 17, 2011 at the Corner Store at 1210 E 4th. Law enforcement officials indicated there were well over 500 individual containers of potpourri with the JWH-210 compound, K2, and other brands of herbal incense, methamphetamine, and fake social security cards, handguns and a large amount of cash that was all seized.

Deputy District Attorney Tom Stanton telling us that it this long to file charges against the pair because of all the testing that had to be done by the KBI lab.

You may recall that this raid came the same night as the raid on TJ’s Smoke Shop at 1108 W 4th. There they found approximately 100 individual containers of potpourri with the illegal JWH-210 compound, marijuana, cocaine, a sawed-off Shotgun and other rifles, and numerous child porn photos.

Timothy Mendenhall was charged with sexual exploitation of a child, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute, possession of personal use drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal use of a weapon and no tax stamp.

But, he could also face federal gun charges in association with this case. It’s unknown if the feds will seek a federal indictment.

He also has two other cases pending, one for flee and elude and interference with law enforcement in the other. Those cases are also pending.
