HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The 106th Kansas State Fair is underway. Under cloudy, but mostly dry
conditions, the fair kicked off at Gottschalk Park with the usual opening ceremonies.
As in the past, Richard Shank was the emcee for the event and gave a brief history of how the fair got its start:
