WICHITA, Kan. — The Hutch High cross country team had a nice showing in Wichita Saturday.
In the varsity girls race, the Hawks finished in third place as a team. Stella Foster led the way with a 4th place finish in a time of 21:42. Jacquline Lewton was also in the top ten in 9th with a time of 22:14. Perla Rodriguez was 37th, Kaylee Unruh ended up in 40th and Maritaz Jimenez was right behind her at 41st.
On the boys side, Noah Cole won the varsity race with a time of 17:15 to lead the Hawks to a 5th place finish in the team title. It’s the second time this week that a local runner has taken top honors in a high school cross country race. Matthew Schrag also had a great race and came home in 8th place at 18:14. Rounding out the field was Graham Barnes in 33rd; Barrett Yoder in 44th and Josh Ivey finished 55th.
