Work continues on the new Hutchinson fire station located along east 30th Avenue near the Westar Power Plant.

The foundation is completed and the first walls of the new Hutchinson Fire Station are going up. The new station on 30th near the Westar Energy plant will replace the current one located near Central Christian School.

The city is building the fire station east of the new K-61 four lane to provide quicker access to homes and businesses in that area. The building, which is being built on property deeded to the city by Westar, should be completed by the middle of next year.
