Efforts of a 30-year-old Hutchinson man arrested back in March for allegedly having a number of weapons and multiple meth labs is still seeking further relief from the high bonds he has in the cases against him.

The cases against Roberto Rincon have been put on hold for now because apparently some of the witnesses in the case are also clients of the Regional Public Defenders Office. That means they have a conflict and so Judge Joe McCarville is forced to assign another attorney to represent him. That means any further hearings being scheduled will depend on how long it will take a new attorney to get up to speed.

Rincon did managed to get his bond lowered back on March 28, when he appeared before Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen. He had a total bond for two cases at 178-thousand dollars, but the judge lowered one bond from 75-thousand to 50-thousand, making the total bond now of 153-thousand dollars. But, apparently he’s seeking an additional reduction.

He was arrested on March 21, on a warrant for being in possession of a firearm, a fully automatic machine gun. Apparently, he was caught with the weapon back on March 10.

In the other case, he’s charged with manufacture of methamphetamine, or in the alternative, attempted manufacture, then multiple other charges associated with the manufacture of meth.

The state has not charged him with any gun crimes because they are seeking federal indictment for those crimes.

During his arrest, law enforcement allegedly found a black 380-caliber semi-automatic handgun on his person. Then a Glock 10 mm, semi-automatic handgun, a black colored assault rifle, and a ballistic vest were all recovered from the front rear passenger compartment areas of the vehicle.

No word on who the new attorney will be, and when another hearing will be scheduled.

Rincon found himself in trouble when he was found in contempt of court during an outburst in front of Judge Tim Chambers. He was in the process of being taken into custody, and allegedly had two guns on him, both loaded, with one allegedly being cocked and ready to fire. That was back in March of 2010. He served 12-months and was released from the county jail on June 28 of last year.
