HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Tuesday is the last day to register to vote in the November midterm elections.

Registration has been busy in Reno County with the clerk’s office reporting that the number of registered voters has increased by 308 since the August primary. As of last week, there were 40,255 registered voters, which is more than 60 percent of the county’s total population.

Advance voting by mail begins Tuesday in the county. Residents will be able to vote in advance in person starting Oct. 22 at the Reno County annex. Two satellite voting opportunities will also be available. One is Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Hutchinson Community College. The second is Thursday, Oct. 25, at Wesley Towers. Both will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The county will be open for advance voting Oct. 27 and Nov. 3 at the annex from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The annex will also be open late for voting Oct. 30 until 7 p.m.

Advance voting will close Monday, Nov. 5, at noon. Mailed-out ballots must be returned by 7 p.m. Nov. 6 or be postmarked by that date.
