POSTGAME: Colts make easy work of Salthawks

WICHITA, Kan. — The Hutchinson Salthawks fell to the Haysville Campus Colts Friday night 49-12.

The Colts scored two touchdowns in the first quarter. The second touchdown was scored by Noah Maldonado, who caught a 38-yard TD pass. Quickly, the Colts led 14-0.

Cameron Harvey scored the Colts third touchdown in the second quarter to extend the advantage to 21-0.

Patrick Graebner scored a touchdown on the last play of the first half for Hutchinson. The extra point was well wide. Campus led 21-6 at the half.

Campus needed just nine plays to score three touchdowns in the first half. Meanwhile, the Salthawks ran 43 plays and managed just six points.

The Colts scored two more touchdowns in the third to extend their lead.

With four minutes to go in the third quarter, Hutchinson’s Trevor Rhoades ran the ball in from 1 yard out to make the score 35-12.

Haysville Campus scored once more in the third to make it 42-12.

With 11 minutes to go, the Colts’ Quinton Hicks scored the last touchdown of the night to make the final score 49-12.

Hutchinson High (2-6) will play Topeka High (7-1) next Friday, Oct. 26.
