HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Trinity Celtics triumphed against the Garden Plain Owls Friday night 16-7.

The Owls started the game quickly with a touchdown in the first 12 seconds. Quarterback Matt Pauly ran the opening kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown.

Neither team scored in the second quarter as both kept turning possessions over on downs.

With less than a minute left in the third quarter, Trinity had a 40-yard pick-six. With a successful two-point conversion, Trinity took an 8-7 lead.

The Celtics scored a rushing touchdown a minute into the final quarter to finish the game off with a 16-7 win over the Owls.

Trinity will play against Hoisington next Friday, Nov. 9.
