GREAT BEND, Kan. — The Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragons defeated the Spring Creek Academy Spartans Friday 111-83.

Hutchinson took a 37-20 lead with 5:24 left in the first half.

Hutchinson’s Fred Odihiambo dunked the ball on a Saquan Singleton assist just as the halftime buzzer rang. The Dragons extended their lead to 55-31 at halftime.

D.J. Mitchell’s free throw with 14:20 to play gave the Dragons a 71-41 advantage. Mitchell led the Dragons with 21 points.

Hutchinson Community College (4-0) travels back to Great Bend Saturday to face Redlands Community College at 3 p.m.
