HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen has given notice that she will resign her position with the district court effective at the end of the month.

She has held that position since Oct. 13, 2015.

Gov. Jeff Colyer is expected to make an interim appointment and is now accepting applications. Those interested are asked to contact Denise Hersh at 785-368-8767 or email denise.hersh@ks.gov.

The deadline to submit an application is Dec. 10.

No reason was given for the resignation. However, Judge Allen was attempting to sell her home and move to Lawrence.
