
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Community College gained another win on Saturday night against Butler Community College and finished off the night with a score of 78-56.
There was a slow start to the game but Hutchinson’s Boubacar Kamissoko ended the scoreless drought with a successful free throw to tie 4-4 with nine minutes left in the first half.
With four minutes to play in the first, the Blue Dragons were in the midst of a 13-2 run and led 19-9 over the Grizzlies.
Hutchinson’s D.J. Mitchell scored in transition and then completed an And-1. This lead to the Dragons advancing 27-18 at halftime.
Mitchell grasped more points and knocked down a 3-pointer to give a 47-25 lead over Butler with 11:30 left. He finished off the night as top player with 29 points and eight rebounds.
With back to back 3-pointers from Mitchell and Tyler Brown, Hutchinson defeated Butler 78-56 in Saturday night’s game.
