Cougars drop Salthawks

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson High School Salthawks lost to the the Salina South High School Cougars 61-46 in Tuesday night’s game.

Hutchinson’s Tracey Mason goes under the basket for a layup with South right behind. Mason is a Junior at Hutchinson High School.

The Cougars started off strong grabbing a 12-0 lead over the Salthawks.

After a hard wakeup call, Hutchinson closed the gap at 23-18.

Even though the Salthawks pushed their efforts, Salina South held the lead for the rest of the second half.

With two technical fouls, Hutchinson still played a good game with top scorers including Jacob Cole and Tate Webster.

Coach Ted Webster talked about the troubles of this game and how they will face the capable team of Salina Central on Friday:

 

Hutchinson plays against Salina Central on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Salthawk Activity Center.
