Alcohol is believed to be a factor in an accident that left a Turon man with head injuries Wednesday night. Reno County Sheriff’s deputies and Turon E-M-S responded to the intersection of Price and Dunkin Streets in Turon for the report of someone being thrown from a vehicle.
Authorities arrived to find 55-year-old Edward Hoover with a head injury after he hit his head on the pavement. He was one of two men thrown from the back of a pick up when the vehicle hit a dip at the intersection. The other man in the back of the truck, 43-year-old James Hill, also of Turon was not injured.
Hoover was air-lifted to Via-Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The Driver of the truck, 31-year-old Tanya Bettes was taken into custody on charges of aggravated battery, reckless bodily harm with a deadly weapon and DUI.
The accident occurring around 8:15 p-m.
