WICHITA – Two Wichita men have been convicted on federal charges of trafficking in methamphetamine.
28-year-old Sergio Alvarez was convicted on one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
Co-defendant, 39-year-old Mariano A. Herrera was convicted on one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
During trial, prosecutors presented evidence that in May 2011 they were engaged in distributing methamphetamine in the Wichita area.
Both men are set for sentencing July 11th. The possession with intent to distribute charge carries a penalty of not less than 10-years and not more than life, and the conspiracy charge carries a maximum penalty of 10-years.
