HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The James A. and Juliet L. Davis Foundation have opened Teacher of the Year 2019 nominations for educators in USD 308.
Officials say the foundation will grant five awards this year for outstanding classroom teachers.
Two will be selected from prekindergarten through sixth grade, one from Hutchinson Middle School and two from Hutchinson High. Teachers must be currently serving in the district to be considered. Administrators and other non-classroom and non-teaching personnel are not eligible to receive these awards.
Staff who receive the award will be honored at the district’s opening convocation in August and at a Salthawk football game in the fall.
Nominations will be taken through March 5.
The public can make nominations as well.
