Reno County E-M-S and Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to an industrial accident that occurred at Finco Inc. at the old navel base industrial park near Yoder Friday morning.

According to Sheriff Randy Henderson, 39-year-old Jeff Ball of Hutchinson was working on a horizontal drill bit at his work station. While trying to reposition the several hundred pound piece of equipment, it fell pulling Ball down with it. The bit did not fall on the victim, however, Ball did land on his neck against the stand that supported the bit.

Ball was taken by Eagle-Med helicopter to Via-Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita for back and neck injuries.

The accident happened around 7 a-m.
