KANSAS CITY, KANSAS – A Kansas City, Mo., man yesterday pled no contest to making false claims to the Kansas Medicaid program and theft.

49-year-old William Taylor, submitted time sheets indicating he had provided Personal Care Attendant services to his relative, when his relative was actually incarcerated in the Johnson County jail.

As part of the plea, he must serve 30-days in jail and pay restitution in the amount of $2,689.83 to the Kansas Medicaid Program. The plea was accepted by Judge Ernest Johnson in Wyandotte County District Court, who then entered a finding of guilty.

Sentencing is set for May 23 at 1:30 p-m.

Assistant Attorney General Amanda Voth, formerly with the Reno County District Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case.
