Mary Ann Nobbs, 81, of Hutchinson, died February 5, 2019, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born July 1, 1937, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the daughter of Franklin H. and Lydia A. (Ewan) Huffmaster.
Mary Ann graduated from Wichita East High School in 1955 and was a homemaker. She loved reading and cooking for her family. Mary Ann was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Hutchinson, where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, served on the Kitchen Committee, Prayer Chain, Visitation Team, sang in the choir, and was passionate about missions.
On September 4, 1955, she married Wayne A. Nobbs Jr. in Wichita. They shared 63 years of marriage. He survives. Also surviving are: daughter, Debra Snyder (Mike), Fort Worth, TX; sons, David Nobbs (Janice), St. Cloud, FL, Kevin Nobbs (Brenda), Hutchinson; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; a niece and two nephews. Mary Ann was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Allison Branson; brother, Jim Minor; and two great-granddaughters.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, with Dr. Roy Jaye officiating. Private family burial will take place in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will greet friends following the service on Sunday.
