Hutch man jailed for aggravated assault and aggravated burglary

A 55-year-old man was jailed about 11:20 a-m, Monday morning after he allegedly broke into an apartment in the Landmark Building at 501 North Main.

Once inside, Timothy Lee Underriner of 500 East 7th, allegedly threatened the victim with a knife, but apparently left as police were arriving. Officers then made a traffic stop in the unit block of East 5th.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, criminal damage to property, and two traffic charges including having no driver’s license, and no proof of liability insurance.

Motive for the threat isn’t clear. The victim telling police that he only new Underriner by name, and wasn’t sure why he was threatened.

Underriner was taken to jail on a 15-thousand, 500-dollar bond, and unless he makes that bond, should be in court for a first appearance on Tuesday.
